The staff looked into the snowy conditions before we headed home and explained in detail which roads were safe and whether there were any traffic restrictions. That thoughtful help was a great finish to our stay. We chose this inn with the family because the food photos looked so beautiful. There weren’t many reviews for Yugo Onsen, and even during the February holidays, rooms were still available until close to our planned date. It turned out to be a really nice place. We had the shabu-shabu course for dinner, and the meat was surprisingly good. Breakfast was comforting, all Japanese-style. The bath wasn’t especially big or impressive, but we could relax in it, and the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were great.

The inn was tidy and well looked after, and everyone was warm and kind. The chef’s food was delicious and clearly prepared with care. I’d highly recommend staying here. Thank you.

The bath was spacious, with one indoor and one open-air bath. The water was a comfortable 38°C, and the outdoor one was a little warmer, so we had time to soak in both. The courtyard on the way to the bath was beautiful. The changing room is right by the entrance, though, and could feel exposed if someone came in. A screen or something similar would make it more private. We spent Sunday and Monday there and hardly saw other guests inside the inn. The same staff member was there to help us throughout. It was a comfortable stay, and I’d like to return when I’m in Okayama. Thank you for the warm service. It was raining during our short spring family getaway. A staff member kindly lent us an umbrella so we could get our big luggage to the car. We ate dinner in our room, including local “Nagi Beef” shabu-shabu and steak, which felt relaxing. The shabu-shabu fire went out midway through, but the waitress quickly brought more fuel for our family. Since some of the other food also needed a fire, including the steak, she let us take our time, which was a big help. When she served the food, she shared sightseeing tips and her own experiences. We also appreciated the complimentary beer or soft drink. After dinner, we called reception to have the plates cleared so we could eat at our own pace. Breakfast was in a private room on the first floor, and we could have as much as we wanted, with refills of tea and rice brought in rice containers. Because of the rain, I wished we could’ve seen the garden in the sun.

I have severe allergies, so when I booked my stay in the Yunogo Onsen area, I told the inn I couldn’t eat seafood or shrimp and asked if they could handle that. They replaced the sashimi, shrimp tempura, and seafood chawanmushi at dinner with vegetable tempura and mushroom chawanmushi, and served plum rice instead of clam rice. I was so grateful, and enjoyed it all. At breakfast they swapped grilled salmon for grilled eggplant with Saikyo miso. I happily finished everything. The room was spotless and spacious, and the staff were all welcoming and friendly. I also found the open-air bath surrounded by nature really refreshing. It was a lovely inn that made me want to return. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Yunogo Onsen.

We ate breakfast and dinner in semi-private rooms, so we could take our time. The rice and side dishes were both delicious and seemed carefully made. The main bath wasn’t too hot, which made it nice for a leisurely soak, while the outdoor bath was a little hotter. It was my first visit. The inn is a little north of Yunogo Onsen town, right along the road and easy to find. At night it was somewhat dark, especially on the mountain side, where it was pitch black and a bit eerie. The hot spring ingredients were listed in a clear file beside the mirror. I think a larger, more visible sign would make the information easier for older people to read and help advertise it better.
