This time the guesthouse had a bathroom and toilet, and breakfast was delicious. It’s close to Wadaura Station and the sea, with a calm atmosphere that makes it easy to relax. The landlady was very kind too. I’d like to come back when I need another restful stay.
Breakfast was tasty and home-style. I would’ve liked a map of the building, and it would’ve been better if the seaweed at breakfast had been roasted rather than seasoned.
The food was the biggest disappointment, and I’d suggest booking without meals. Service was just okay, but for this location and level of service the price is high, so the value is terrible. I suspect the good reviews come from regulars who feel sorry for the place.
I make this a summer routine, staying overnight in Wadaura to enjoy the season. It’s a guesthouse without anything luxurious, but accommodation and breakfast cost 5300 yen. Breakfast is delicious, especially the fresh dried horse mackerel.
We were one of four groups staying that day. The rooms are clean and the duvets are warm. Surfers can reach the points from Kamogawa to Chikura, I think. You can wash and dry wetsuits outside, though there’s a lot of rain, so wear shorts when you’re working outdoors. There’s an Unakowa and H&C server by the entrance, plus a shared refrigerator on the second floor.
