The room was tiny but clean, with a toilet inside. It felt more like a staff hostel than a hotel, and they only had hot water downstairs for cup noodles, so bring your own chopsticks and teaspoon. The location is great, very near Sunrise Express Gondola. We took the shuttle from the station to Ishiuchi Maruyama ski centre, then dragged our bags through the snow from the ski centre to the hotel. Carrying them upstairs wasn’t fun.

The public bathhouse was the most interesting part, with everyone bathing together. The room was traditional Japanese style with tatami, and the location is super convenient, just a two-minute walk to the ski entrance and sunrise gondola.

The rooms were nice and very clean. The staff didn’t speak any English, but the service was the best part: they picked us up at the train station and drove us to the resort every morning. Highly recommend. If we come back to snowboard in this area, we’d definitely stay again.
