BEVERLY HILLS VILLA Miyakojima Resort

Everything was fine apart from check-in. I booked through Agoda, but wasn’t told in advance that I needed to check in at a different place, Fine Rent-a-Car Miyako Airport Main Branch. The staff were friendly and helpful. I speak Japanese, but I imagine guests who have trouble communicating might find this difficult. Please send clear check-in instructions ahead of time.

The value for money is terrible. The room feels small for its size because it has so many walls, and it’s ugly. The air conditioner is full of mold, while the spring bed is cheap and bouncy. The furniture and appliances are old, cheap, and hard to use. There aren’t enough towels or supplies, check-in is complicated, and the room isn’t cleaned no matter how many nights you stay.

We had a quiet, relaxing stay in this spacious, clean villa. There were three rooms and a living/dining room, and the bathroom and sink were clean as well. We could use the washing machine. You do need to drive to eat or shop, but parking right beside the villa made loading and unloading luggage easy. The shop staff we spoke with were very courteous.

The room itself is lovely, but the service is completely incomplete. The security system is so sensitive that the alarm keeps going off and we can’t get in, and there’s no manual explaining what to do. The check-in area is far away, with no advance notice, and the counter staff are overbearing. They insist on getting every guest’s full name, gender, and age, saying they won’t let us stay otherwise. That much information isn’t necessary.
