I've stayed at Cactus Inn a few times and each visit has been great. It's a friendly guest house where a sociable person can easily meet people, and I've met lots of guests there. I especially like the comfortable open lounge and kitchen, with a speaker you can connect to over Bluetooth. The location in Aoshima is excellent, close to plenty of restaurants, bars, and the local supermarket. Aoshima train station is right next door. Rooms are simple but comfortable, and the shared bathrooms and toilets are cleaned daily. Enjoy your stay!

It's a cheap place for tourists, but I wouldn't recommend Cactus Inn. On our last visit, the electricity short-circuited because there were too many guests, and we had three blackouts. There was no staff around to help, so the guests had to restart the main power system ourselves. Check-in was also a problem at first because the inn hadn't sent the verification code for the self-service counter. Luckily, customer service helped us when we called.

The inn is close to both the station and the sea, and the room was clean. The bath and toilet are shared rather than in the room, and there's no host on site. You check yourself in and out, which feels very strange if you don't know how the process works.

Really loved staying here. The location is great, the futons were super comfortable, and the people running the place were lovely. There are cooking facilities and a great shop nearby for stocking up. Highly recommend.
