HOTEL R9 The Yard Mizunami

The room stayed surprisingly quiet through heavy rain, and I barely heard footsteps or vibrations from people on the outside stairs. The containers are completely separate, which made for a comfortable stay. One tip about the frozen meals: the room’s fridge and freezer aren’t switched on when you arrive, so turn the dial yourself and give it time to get cold before collecting your meal at the front desk. Taking the meal straight back at check-in may be too soon. I found lower rates on Rakuten Travel and Agoda than on the hotel’s own site this time. Prices could differ by season or plan, so it’s worth comparing booking sites.

Free parking and frozen bento breakfasts were included. I was here on a trip as a coach for a match, and the new room was clean. The receptionist was a foreigner. I’d stay again.

There were restaurants and convenience stores close by, which was handy. Inside, the place seemed fairly new and very clean. I liked having a microwave and a two-door fridge. Ice I put in for my drinks stayed frozen.

The rates were fairly affordable, and the location near the highway made sightseeing in Nagoya convenient. We stayed over Obon with two adults and children aged 5 and 3. Since the place had been built recently, the rooms were clean, and we didn’t have to worry about the kids being noisy for people next door or below. Being able to go straight into the room from the car seems especially handy with children. The bath water could be cold depending on the time of day. We also didn’t eat the complimentary frozen meals because they didn’t look very appealing. Food wasn’t a problem, though, with late-opening drugstores and family restaurants nearby. I’d like to stay here again.
