Paraiso de Motobu

The big lawn was great for a barbecue, and they had everything ready, including charcoal. The kids loved it, and the gas dryer got our clothes dry quickly. We were seven people staying for three nights, and the roomy living area and bedrooms made us very happy. The supermarket, restaurants, and beach were all an easy walk away. Water pressure was a little low, but that was our only real complaint. We’d happily stay again if we get the chance. Thanks for looking after us!

The room was spacious and the location was excellent, with izakayas and supermarkets within walking distance. If the plumbing were fixed, this could be a great place. But opening the door, we were hit by a really unpleasant smell. I couldn’t identify it, though it may have been cigarette smoke. There was just one toilet for the number of guests, which was inconvenient. Flushing several times made it stop working, so we had to add water with a hose. It seemed to have water left in it, and the toilet ended up flooded. The sink was awkwardly inside the bathroom, and only a trickle came out.

It was a nice place, but the damp smell was there as soon as I walked in. Spraying the bedding didn’t get rid of it. There weren’t any curtains either, so the morning sun came straight into the Japanese-style room where I slept, and the heat woke me up. The rice cooker holds 5.5 cups, which meant I had to cook twice to make enough. With those issues fixed, I would have given it a perfect score. Sorry to be critical, and I hope things improve.

The kids were thrilled, and we all made some lovely memories. The inside was clean and very spacious, and for this price I thought it was a great deal. The outside didn’t quite match the pictures, though. We had nine adults and seven children, including five preschoolers. It was hard to find one room for everyone, but Paraiso Demotobu was flexible and said the little ones could sleep with their parents. It was easy to find, with a supermarket close by. The air conditioning was already on when we arrived from Churaumi Aquarium, which was a thoughtful touch after being out in the heat. There was a bathtub and plenty of towels and toothbrushes, which helped. Water pressure was a little weak, and having to hold the showerhead while washing was inconvenient. The refrigerator looked small in the website photos, so we brought a big cooler, but it was actually a normal household size. It would be good if they updated those pictures. Checkout was at 10 am. We were in a rush and had a nearby lunch reservation, but still had time to spare before it. An 11 am checkout would have helped.
