APA Hotel Muroran

The room felt cramped for what it cost, and the bed was extremely hard. The bathroom was especially dated: the taps wouldn't shut properly, the hot water kept varying, and there was no temperature control. The location is handy and the price is low, but I think you can find a better room for the same amount nearby.

The room was a reasonable size, and the toilet had plenty of space. I also liked that the hotel is right beside a car park and next to a popular ramen place, with a few convenience stores about five minutes away. Check-in was quick and easy. Breakfast was included, though the choices were limited. I stayed one day.

There’s a laundry room on the first floor, and parking is available at three sites within a two-minute walk. The rooms are cleaned every day and stocked with lots of amenities. I also appreciated the BBC World channel and NHK bilingual news. The rooms are nicely furnished and have a refrigerator that keeps running after you remove the key card from the power slot. Good location and good value.

Breakfast was tasty, with plenty of different foods to choose from. There’s a Sushi restaurant across the street, and Donqi is around a ten-minute walk away. We left our luggage beside the hotel, then drove to park behind Lawson. That lot has a roof, unlike the other one. I stayed in a twin room on the fifth floor in mid-July 2024. There was enough room to open two suitcases, and it came with water, a mini bar, hair dryer, slippers, kettle, TV, adjustable air conditioning, toiletries, and towels. Our room and toilet were fine, though my sister’s room stayed quite hot even after she adjusted the air temperature. The front desk staff couldn’t speak English, so we used Google Translate.
