The breakfasts were a real highlight, especially the miso soup, and I loved the traditional setting. There was clearly a lot of care put into preparing them. The inn is also right among restaurants and snack shops, with its own restaurant downstairs where the crepes are delicious and come in lots of varieties. I liked them even more eaten there than in Tokyo city. At first I felt a little uncomfortable, but the family here, especially the landlady, was so friendly and easy to approach that I soon felt welcome. By the end I was sad to leave. The place is cosy, there's a laundromat for washing clothes, and a massage chair by the onsen entrance. I regret skipping the body massage, which was given by the landlady's sister-in-law. I think her sister made the crepes.

Miwa-san even sent us off with cute origami when we checked out, which made our last day extra memorable. She also gave us discount vouchers for nearby ski resorts, a really thoughtful gesture. She was warm and welcoming throughout our four-night stay, and the towels were changed daily. After long days snowboarding, the nightly onsen was a great way to unwind. We loved the homemade crepes too, and looked forward to them each evening. I'd recommend this place for a ski or snowboard trip. What I'll miss most is the breakfast every morning 😭

The Japanese-style room, drying room, onsen and bath facilities all suit us well, and the hotel is right on the main street in a very central spot. Miwa and her family run the place capably, and Miwa is thoughtful and caring. She makes a point of helping us settle in and checking that our departure plans are sorted before we leave. We just came back from another lovely week in the snow at Myoko Kogen. This was our third stay at our favourite place, Hotel Senke, and we plan to return in 2027. We're very happy with our stays.

The breakfasts were delicious and had small changes each day, so I got to try different foods I might not otherwise have found. I'm gluten and dairy free, and they made sure my meals were both safe and tasty. They also run Mr Burger, which was handy for dinner when I didn't want to go out, and they accommodated my dietary needs there too. I loved the warm, bright Japanese-style room. It was comfortable and quiet, with wifi and all the amenities I needed. The main street location was perfect, and the drying room kept everything dry and easy to reach. The onsen was lovely after a day on the slopes, and my small tattoo wasn't an issue. Miwe and the rest of the team, who I believe are family, were great to stay with. Miwe gave me lots of useful advice to help the trip go smoothly and sent my snowboard on for me at the end. Thanks for everything, you helped make this a trip to remember. I'll be back.

The room was basic, but it had what we needed since we spent our days skiing and our evenings in the village bars and restaurants. The onsen was lovely after a day out, and the drying room worked well. It's a short walk to the chairlift, and we were lucky enough to get a perfect powder day. The owners were so friendly. It was a pleasure meeting you, Miwa, and I hope to visit again one day xx
