The onsen was a great experience, and all the staff were extremely nice. Ikeda went above and beyond to help us get our passport back from a previous hotel stay. We’ll stay here again!
Free breakfast and parking make this a convenient place to stay if you're traveling around the area or need somewhere to crash while visiting customers nearby. The rooms and bathrooms are small, as you'd expect from a Japanese budget business hotel meant mostly for a short stay and a night's sleep. Works for one person or a couple, but not for families.
A pleasant budget hotel, and the free breakfast has a good range of choices.
I opened the curtains and Mount Fuji was right there, looking surprisingly close. It was an incredible sight, like a piece of art. The staff added to the cheerful feel. In the dining room, whenever a new dish came out, someone would call out, "It's in!" And as I walked past the empty room next door on my way to check out, a staff member popped out and cheerfully said, "Thank you." A really pleasant, upbeat hotel.
The hotel and rooms were clean, though there was some wear, and the plumbing felt old. I found the faucet awkward to use compared with others I’ve encountered. The air conditioner was a little dirty; it gave me the impression it had probably been cleaned in summer and then used often. From the room TV you can check how busy the bath and breakfast area are, but there’s no YouTube or similar. The breakfast had three time slots, but the hotel seemed busy, so I skipped it because I didn't think I could eat in peace. I don't usually use Route Inn's public bath since it doesn't feel very "large." I was there for a motorcycle tour. You can reach the underground parking from the lot in front of the entrance. Since I wanted covered parking, I parked underground and checked in, but then staff asked me to move my motorcycle to the cones in front. A motorcycle that arrived later instead used an empty space that didn't block anyone. If motorcycles have a designated area, there should be a sign or clear guidance as soon as you enter. And if staff direct riders, they should apply the rule fairly. Being polite and humble wasn't enough to give me a good first impression. I've felt that most Route Inns don't give enough information about motorcycle parking, and for future tours I wouldn't favor this place unless I had no other options. There aren't convenience stores nearby, but there is a MaxValu in the complex, along with Mos Burger and Ootoya. MaxValu has a decent selection, so getting food shouldn't be a problem. There's also a Bikkuri Donkey close by. Noise was another issue. This Route Inn seemed more affected by sounds from neighboring rooms and the hallway than others I've stayed at. Sure, guests need to be considerate, but it had been a while since I needed earplugs to sleep in a hotel. I'd always thought Route Inn would be my go-to, but thinking back on my past stays and what I need going forward, this made me reconsider.
