Hotel H2 Nagasaki

We stayed four nights in December 2025 in a Smart Double Room at H2 in Nagasaki. We knew the room would be small, but it had all we needed, including a bathroom overlooking the river. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful, and the location was excellent, right across from the tram stop. The onsen on the 11th floor was a nice surprise, as was the complimentary laundry room. We appreciated the strong internet, clean room, complete blackout blinds, soundproofing, and high-end DHC amenities. The bed and pillow were comfortable, and they refreshed the bottled water daily.

We were there for our honeymoon and stayed five nights. The hotel is newly renovated, clean, and attractive, with large rooms by Japanese standards and a spacious, well equipped bathroom and shower. It's centrally located near everything, and if you arrive by car, they offer a parking discount coupon. The price felt very reasonable and worth every yen. The onsen was spotless, nicely designed, fairly large, and tattoos were no problem. We also booked an in-room spa treatment. The massage was professional, the price affordable and much cheaper than what I usually pay at home, and the therapists came right to us. Their hours were flexible, even late at night, so we didn't have to leave the room. Breakfast had plenty of delicious options. We keep a kosher-style diet, meaning no pork or seafood, though we do mix meat and dairy, and were pleasantly surprised by the selection: fish, chicken, salads, shakes, waffles, pancakes, and eggs. Staff were considerate about preparing food without pork fat and more, and took time to explain the ingredients in advance. The staff were kind, thoughtful, patient, and amazing throughout. We stayed during Yom Kippur and, while trying to explain that we couldn't use electricity, confused them a lot 😂. We took the emergency stairs instead of the elevator, and since the room doors were electric, staff came with us every time to open our door. They were sweet, respectful, and genuinely curious. It became a funny situation we laughed about together, and felt like service from the heart. Highly, highly recommend. Every detail was thoughtfully handled 💛

The outdoor bath was nice, and the breakfast buffet was so delicious for just 1,800 yen. There's free laundry, too. My single room had room to spare, even with my large check-in suitcase open. The location is perfect: the Nagasaki-Unzen express bus stop is only 50 meters away, and there are several other bus stations within 100 meters, so local transport can take you anywhere.

For a solo trip, this was just right. Check-in and checkout on the 3rd floor were quick and easy, and the public bath, both indoor and outdoor, was very clean. I booked a compact room with a toilet but no shower. It had what I needed, though I wouldn't suggest it for anyone traveling with lots of luggage. Everything was close by on foot, by bus, or by tram.
