Mr.KINJO in GUSUKU

The bed was comfortable, but the sheets felt cheap and plasticky. The room itself was dingy, with wallpaper slapped from floor to ceiling, and the lighting made basic skincare and makeup hard for me. The shower and toilet were nice, but there was a sewage-like smell by the washing machine. The hotel and staff seemed nice when we arrived, until we reached the second floor and got hit by a strange, unpleasant smell that made the place feel less clean. The nearby beach was full of trash and not good for swimming. There are bars around, but they weren’t really of interest to my partner and me as foreigners. It seems like a nice area for locals, but I didn’t find it impressive as a tourist stay.

We got a very reasonable price, so we were generally happy with the place. The room was tidy, modern, and comfortable, though the lighting in some spots made it hard for my wife to do her makeup. It’s in a part of Nago full of snack bars and izakayas, so it didn’t feel very family-friendly.

Everything looked fairly new and was well maintained, though the hotel itself felt average. Since there’s a kitchen, it would’ve been helpful to have at least a few pots and plates.

The AC rattled all night, and the pillows were really uncomfortable. I won’t come back.
