The Ritz-Carlton, Okinawa

The walkways and buildings are beautifully designed, with lovely structures furnished elegantly throughout the property. The rooms are modern and well laid out, with good space and a nice balcony. The bed was unlike any I’ve slept in before, and the mattress made me feel almost as if I were floating. Service met Ritz standards, with the added warmth of Okinawan hospitality. Dining was splendid, including breakfast, where excellent produce was matched by great cooking and execution. It was a real treat to stay here, and kudos to the Ritz team for maintaining the property and service at such a high level.

Our honeymoon began with a night at another hotel in Okinawa that fell so far short of what we expected that we decided we couldn’t spend the rest of the trip there. We packed up and walked next door to the Ritz-Carlton Okinawa. That choice changed everything. Hitomi Adachi and the team learned it was our honeymoon and welcomed us with personal, warm, thoughtful care from the moment we arrived. They didn’t just check us in. It felt like the whole team truly cared, in a way that can’t be faked. The room was breathtaking, with views, space, and a quality to everything that felt carefully considered. It was the kind of room we didn’t want to leave in the morning and will talk about for years. Okinawa is paradise, and the hotel’s location fits into it effortlessly. The amenities were impeccable and generous, just right for a honeymoon. We arrived disappointed and left completely in love with each other, the hotel, the team, and the island. The Ritz-Carlton Okinawa didn’t just meet our expectations, it reset them. For a celebration that matters, or if you want to feel like a guest rather than a room number, this is the kind of hospitality you’ll remember for years. We’ll be back. That’s a promise.

We visited in the off-season, when the resort seemed to have relatively few staff. Emma and Sushant interacted with us every day and made the stay personal and memorable. They went beyond their duties, sharing local history and culture with us and connecting on a personal level. I hope the resort recognizes and appreciates how skilled and diligent they are. The Ritz-Carlton delivered, as it always does, but for me the people made Okinawa a real experience. Thanks to everyone for such a memorable stay. I look forward to coming back.

Chika helped us at each restaurant during our dinners, and was so nice that she even offered to show us interesting things to do around town. We ate at all of the restaurants, and every meal was excellent. The beach shuttle was lovely, and the golf course was challenging but fun, though it may be a little expensive. I guess the location is part of what you pay for. We had a wonderful honeymoon, and everything from reception through checkout went smoothly. Breakfast was okay, but not what I expected from a five-star hotel. Aside from that, the stay was excellent.
