BRILLIANCE Hotel

The rooms are small and the beds are hard, but the toilets and bathrooms are good, and the shower has strong pressure. It's a modest, inexpensive hotel in a handy spot near the subway. There's a Lawson across the street, a Family Mart shopping center nearby, and Nagoya Castle and several museums are within walking distance.

It was easy to get around, and the reception was helpful for the most part. The room was larger than the one I had at my last hotel in osaka, and nice and clean.

I found the check-out experience awful and stressful. I didn't know it was at 10am, and after that a woman came to the room literally every five minutes while I was trying to pack. I paid extra for an hour at reception when checking out, so why keep coming back and making me feel pressured? I ended up having to pack my things in the lobby. The rooms are very close together with no soundproofing, so it's noisy, and the beds are rock-hard. Pathetic experience.

The staff were great, and the location was good. My only complaints were the hard bed and the laundry machine. As others have said, the bed really is quite hard. I still managed to sleep, but would've preferred something softer, and I think many people would find it uncomfortable. There’s just one washer-dryer, and it takes a long time. The standard cycle was two hours, but my clothes still weren't dry, so I had to add another hour. Thanks to the staff anyway 🙂
