Hotel Maruyon

A convenient place to stay.

I stayed by myself, and the room was covered in dust. There was mold in the shower room, with no real sense of cleanliness at all. In the morning, nobody was at the front desk, so I didn’t know how to check out. When I called out, an older man came out reluctantly. I won’t stay here again.

There was no feeling of cleanliness anywhere, and I would never stay here again, even if someone asked me to. I have a mold allergy, and as soon as I entered the room I couldn’t stop sneezing or having a runny nose. Black spots were scattered around the poorly cleaned air conditioner, and there was visible black mold throughout the bathroom too. The worst part was the air purifier. Its humidifying unit was covered in black mold, the rear filter hadn’t been cleaned, and the air outlet had a lot of brown buildup that I couldn’t tell was mold or dirt. The wardrobe dehumidifiers under the sink and TV were full of black mold as well, and I have no idea how long they’d been left there. Dust had collected along the top edge of the door, which had no chain lock. The toilet’s bidet function was unavailable due to COVID-19 precautions, finally? Even so, some mysterious water sprayed out when I sat down. The toilet smelled a little bad, as if years of ammonia odor hadn’t been fully removed. Frankly, it was awful. Anyone staying here should be prepared for the consequences.

The room was dirty, and I ended up sleeping with a bath towel wrapped around my pillow. The air conditioner was dusty and the air felt bad. Sorry, but even at 6,000 yen, it’s too expensive.
