« Southern Cross » on the 1st floor has a relaxed, informal atmosphere and several lunch menus at reasonable prices. A good restaurant.

The room was thoughtfully set up, with outlets by the pillow and at the desk. I tend to use my laptop at the side table, though, so I wish there were sockets there too. The view of Nagoya Castle from the window was fantastic, and for a night in the 6,000 yen range with breakfast for 500 yen, the quality is among the best in Nagoya city. It’s quiet, and the convenience store is within a 5-minute walk, but the location is farther from the downtown area than it first seems. Getting to Nishiki and Sakae is a bit difficult, and there’s really nothing around at night. After midnight, you have to use the disaster prevention center back entrance to come and go, which is a little inconvenient, though I suppose it can’t be helped. The breakfast buffet was a disappointment for me. There wasn’t much choice, and with only one toaster, it was always packed lol. I’d rather they skip bread altogether and offer more variety, like raw eggs, seaweed, or a salad buffet. The salad was served separately, and I wish the cabbage had been shredded, if it wasn’t already. The vegetables were generally hard, and you couldn’t choose your dressing. Maybe I’m the only one who cares this much about buffets, but that’s my service complaint.
