The place is clean, and there’s a budget supermarket and plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s also about 100 meters from a train station. The room itself is usable and set up as a duplex, but getting there is a hassle: you have to collect the key elsewhere, around 15 minutes away by train, and leave your luggage at that same distant pickup spot. There’s no storage in the building, and the nearest station is still a long walk. Since the owner seems to rent the place out, I’d say it’s best for young travelers with little luggage, not families or groups with adults and kids.

Cooking here feels much like being at home in Japan, with cookware, dishes, and laundry facilities in the room, plus a supermarket nearby. The view is lovely, too. It’s tucked away and feels more like a family-run apartment. If you can’t check in at the front desk, let them know ahead of time. Staff can put your belongings in a safe and give you the combination.

There’s no parking, and the key has to be collected about 15 minutes away by car. The accommodation doesn’t offer luggage storage either, so that setup is especially inconvenient if you’re traveling with family or children. I don’t recommend it for that kind of trip. The room can fit 3-4 people, and there’s a train station, supermarket, and lots of restaurants nearby, but picking up the key is a real hassle.

The maison-style rooms are really nice, and the monorail and market are close by, so the neighborhood works great. I’d heard it had closed temporarily, but a friend said IKIDANE Co., Ltd. in Ichigaya, Tokyo, had started operating again, so I booked a stay.

A room in an apartment building, and it was inexpensive during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sakaemachi Market is close, which makes it handy for going bar hopping.
