Gekkousou Okinawa - Hostel

The relaxed atmosphere made my four days here easy. I never felt pushed or stressed, which is unusual compared with the typical Japanese homestay experience. I met a lot of new people and learned plenty, and everyone was friendly. We had a lovely time together on the island. Food is served during the day, then the bar opens at 10pm. Guests can move over there to keep their senbero or drinks going, without much pressure. I'd recommend this guesthouse, even though I've been pretty harsh about others. Let people unwind and enjoy Okinawa.

The guest house was clean and roomy, and the beds were really comfortable. The owners also invited us on a camping trip to a nearby island, which became one of our best experiences in Okinawa. If you like a laid-back place with fun people, I'd recommend staying here. I'd come back if I make it to Naha again :)

At night, locals come by the hostel to hang out, tell stories, drink, and play music, which gives it a great community feel. I wish I spoke Japanese, but it was still a great experience. It's close to the train station and city center, and the airport is a 15 min train ride away. I'll come back if I'm passing through Okinawa.

I had such a great time here, with lovely staff and people, drinks, and plenty of laughs. Really glad I stumbled across this gem. I plan to return many times.
