Little Asia – Hostel

The location is good, and the staff were nice. There was even a mouse in the kitchen at no extra charge, though everyone seemed scared of it 🐁!! The room smelled so bad that I nearly threw up when I went in that evening. I stayed two nights, and the second was worse. It smelled like months-old sweaty feet, with grime on the walls and mold creeping around. I didn't shower there because I felt I'd come out dirtier than I went in. Sleeping was hard too, with no real mattress and some people snoring at 83 dB. I've stayed in lots of places in Japan, and this is easily one of the three worst I've ever been to. The dryer was great, getting clothes dry in under an hour for 100 yen, so it's worth it if you have a lot of laundry. The staff were quite nice, and my stay was mostly satisfactory. The mattress, though, was extremely unsatisfactory: it was so thin I could feel the board underneath, and it gave me back aches.

The city-center location is good, and the accommodation is very basic. But the smell was bad in almost every area, the walls were moldy, and there was no privacy at all. The staff were really cold and unpleasant to guests. I'd recommend it only to people who don't want to spend money and don't care about living conditions or their health.

It's cheap and close to the shopping street, so it works if you just need somewhere for a normal rest. The washing machine is free. The place is quite run down, but the dorm and bed are fine and clean enough to sleep in. The mattress is very thin, and the bed squeaks when you turn over. The toilet and shoe rack stink. There's no lift, so you'll have to carry your luggage up the stairs.
