Community & Spa Naha Central Hotel

It’s unusual to find a room in Japan with single beds for four adults, which worked well for us. The continental breakfast also had a good spread. Dust built up easily in the room. I’d wake up in the morning and find a layer of it on my phone, and the purifier didn’t seem to help. The toilet floor is carpeted, which seems like the wrong choice because it absorbed the urine smell and it wouldn’t go away.

The room was bigger than we expected, with enough floor space to open all three suitcases at once. It had real single beds, which is unusual in a triple room, and tatami flooring instead of carpet that felt very clean. The location was convenient too, on a quiet street just three minutes from the main street. There was a kettle, electric hob, sink in both the room and bathroom, a big fridge, and a humidifier. The staff were friendly and spoke English, and check-in and check-out were quick.

The room was on the small side, but the hotel is near the main shopping street and restaurants. Breakfast buffet was decent. It can be hard to communicate with the staff if you don’t speak their language. The spa isn’t included with the hotel booking, though guests can enter for 1,000 yen per visit, discounted from the 1,500 yen general admission.

We had a pleasant stay in a well-located city hotel. Kokusai Street is about a five-minute walk away, and Naha International Airport is a 15-20 minute taxi ride. Our travel planner booked it because it has rooms for four people. The room was nice, though a little small as city hotel rooms tend to be. Beds were comfortable, but the TV only seemed to have three or four channels. The bathroom was nicely laid out for the limited space, with a rain shower and Mikimoto bath amenities. There was a hair dryer, tea and coffee set, and a safe in the cabinet. Room floors are accessed by lift using a room card, though that feature is only in tower 1, not older tower 2. The attached onsen spa was reasonably priced at 1,000 yen per person. For guests driving, parking right in front costs 1,500 yen a day, collected at check-in. Breakfast was good and sufficient, but not especially delicious. I’d recommend it for a family trip: it’s a reasonably good, safe hotel in a convenient location.
