South Gate Hotel Okinawa

The food really stood out. We had dinner, breakfast, then came back for dinner again the next day. The hotel is inexpensive, but the hospitality felt like a 5-star place. The rooms were nicely decorated with good finishes, nothing like the basic furnishings you see in cheap business hotels. What impressed us most was how well trained every staff member was, from the way they walked to their gestures and how alert they were to what guests needed. It was mind-blowing. They also have a sister hotel, SW (Southwest Grand neverby), and we felt the service here was just as good, maybe a little better. The price is only ⅓, and while the room may not be as luxurious, SG gives you more than you’d expect for what you pay.

One night really wasn’t enough. The stylish hotel and elegant interior, live music, staff uniforms, and the ocean and night view from our window made the stay feel like being on a luxury cruise, even though we were on land. The restaurant was especially good, and the rooms were wonderful too. It was easy to reach from Naha Airport, so it works well for a city visit or a holiday. The management company has changed, and it looks like they’ve just renovated. I’d love to return, and next time I want to add a trip to the outlying islands and stay three nights! ✨️

The sunset from the reception hall was amazing, and the scenery is beautiful ✨ The food made with Okinawan ingredients was delicious 🤤 Everyone on staff greeted us with lovely smiles, and we had a really memorable time. Thank you♪

We chose Southgate Hotel because it had everything we look for: a large public bath, a sauna with a cold plunge, and a gym. Since it had only recently had its grand opening, the room was clean and stylish, and I liked the refrigerator too. I used the gym, bath, and sauna every day. The gym has a great view, though I got confused by the elevator being on the opposite side and had a hard time finding it. I wish there were a clock inside the sauna. The ocean sauna was still under construction, which was a shame, but I’ll save that for next time. The staff and the foreign members of the cleaning team were all very courteous. Thank you. One thing bothered me: the metal bucket for ice leaked when the ice melted. I swapped it for another bucket the next day, but that leaked too. I think I saw paper cups in a YouTube video, and paper or plastic cups would be better. We stayed for 3 nights and were very satisfied. Thanks again.
