EIGHT POINT RESORT OKINAWA - Glamping

We watched a beautiful sunset over the water, then cooked the barbecue dinner the management had prepared for us. The food was delicious, and the marshmallows from the bonfire were so good. Breakfast was a tasty sandwich we made ourselves, too. The huge tent is thoughtfully laid out and comes with a bathroom, showers, and lots of amenities, even face wash and lotion. Had an amazing stay, and I hope to come back soon.

The tent was cozy, and we loved the view both during the day and at night. We stayed two nights while visiting Okinawa, and having a bathroom and toilet inside the tent was especially nice. The staff were friendly and explained everything clearly at check-in. There was plenty of food for breakfast and dinner, with clear instructions for preparing and cooking it. Thanks for a memorable stay. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone after a unique place to stay.

We could see both the water and the town from this beautiful spot. Dinner was ready to cook, and there was a fire pit for that campfire feeling. The room had everything you’d expect in a hotel, including a proper bath and toilet, fridge, air conditioning, and fan, plus a bit more.

The tent was nice enough, though not luxurious, and the food was good and delicate, as you’d expect in Japan. But the rules really got in the way. Check-in is late afternoon, dinner has to be finished between 6 and 8, the public lights go out at 9, and checkout is at 10 the next morning. Fireworks are limited to handheld ones until 9, there can be no noise after 9, and bonfires are out after that too. Staff specifically reminded me about the noise rule at check-in. With nothing to do after 9, it felt like we arrived late, then had to hurry through breakfast, pack, and leave by 10. Maybe going once was enough to satisfy our curiosity, but I didn’t enjoy it much with so many rules. I think it may suit Japanese retirees and people who want everyone to be very quiet, but it didn’t feel very kid-friendly. I got the impression the staff disliked children and worried they might be noisy or burn the place down, and weren’t really welcome. There was no flexibility from the staff. It felt like any request would be treated as causing trouble for other guests.
