We really enjoyed our night here. The food was very good, especially the local vegetable tempura. Most of the meal was vegetables, with fish as the only main meat, which I liked. The minshuku is right in the village, with a shop and restaurant next door and everything else an easy walk away. It's a small village. The clean, modern shared facilities included a toilet area with two urinals and two enclosed toilets, plus a separate bath that you need to book a time for. The individual rooms sit next to each other, divided by thin sliding doors, so late nights and noise aren't a good idea. It feels like a hostel with a more distinctive, enhanced atmosphere. The futon mattress is fairly thin on the floor, so people used to soft beds may find it uncomfortable.

Ainokura felt quieter and nicer than touristy Shinagawa-go, and staying at this minshuku gave me a more authentic experience. I spent two nights at Minshuku Goyomon, on Friday 5 September 2025 and Saturday 6 September, and it exceeded what I expected. Dinner and breakfast were included in the tariff, and the food was beautifully prepared. My tatami room and usual bedding were very clean, and a towel and yukata were provided. The shared bathroom and toilets were clean and readily available. The building is old and showing its age, but very clean and well maintained. On my first night, I got to talk in the shared dining area with a Japanese family of three in another room and a Japanese gentleman in the third bedroom. We managed with Google Translate and broken English. Congratulations to the operator and cook. I'd highly recommend this minshuku.

We had the place to ourselves on our first night, then two other groups arrived the next night. That made it feel a little less comfortable, but I would still highly recommend staying here. The host was kind and friendly, and cooked us very good meals. The toilet and bath facilities were superb, better than at many hotels. Kerosene heaters warmed the inn and our room, though they didn't run all night. Even in the cold weather, the futon let us sleep well. We loved our two nights at Goyomon.

Our stay was memorable, in a lovely Japanese-style room at this two-room minshuku. The host was welcoming and kind, and made us fresh, delicious vegetarian meals too. The location was beautiful. Thank you!

Hi, I'd like to book a room for my mother and me, but neither of us has a Japanese phone. Is there another way to make a reservation?
