Small Auberge & Hot Spring Spa Sakuragaike Kuagarden

The countryside scenery was pleasant, and there's a lake nearby where you can walk around, about 4km, I think. There's also a sunflower garden behind the main building and a bouldering facility about a two-minute walk away. I came with my expectations set too high, so that was on me. The heated pool, which uses some hot spring water mixed with regular water, was okay, and the staff there were very friendly. But if you picture a huge, impressive pool from the website, you may be disappointed. The hot spring itself seemed like an ordinary public bath, nothing special. The lobby looked fairly nice, though the main front desk staff were unfriendly. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but the pork dish I chose tasted very ordinary, not like hotel food, and I was disappointed. The chestnut cake was good, with a nice sweetness.
