The best thing was the location, right by Nara Park and near Todaiji. The rooms were large enough for our school group of 70 students and 7 adults, and the place felt safe and suitable for us. They even put up with our very loud karaoke singing. Dinner was excellent for all the students, and the staff were kind and helpful. Thank you!

We were checking our phones to see where we were when someone rudely told us to get out. We felt the staff were unfriendly to foreigners.

The location made it easy to find something to do: a five-minute walk in any direction gets you to Nara Park, with its famous deer that bow and eat from your hand, or to one of the many nearby temples and shrines. After a long day riding buses and walking around temples, the small onsen on the first floor was incredibly relaxing. It was my first time at a real onsen, and I’d highly recommend this one. Our room was very spacious and nice. Staff poured tea when we arrived, then prepared our sleeping arrangements while we were out. All in all, a great experience!

The onsen was okay, though once again its opening hours were inflexible. Breakfast was very average, and the staff seemed average too, not very aware of what hotel service should be. We paid 180 Euros for a night with breakfast, which felt very pricey for what we got. The room had cheap furniture and no charm.

A one-of-a-kind Japanese experience, with the lodging, food, and hospitality you’d expect in the country. A once-in-a-lifetime stay.
