The Deer Park Inn

We love Deer Park Inn and Mountain Home Lodge, and we'll be back. Every staff member we met was so kind, and they go above and beyond to make a stay feel right. On our most recent visit there was a room mixup, and they offered to refund the whole stay. They did, even though we hadn't asked for it and it wasn't what we wanted. The place is managed better than any other hotel we've stayed at. Thanks for valuing customers and not doing business just for the money.

The room was clean, the staff were so nice and helpful, and the location was incredible. You can actually feed the deer from your window! The beds were pretty uncomfortable, which is my one criticism, but otherwise it was an unforgettable experience.

The kitchen made it easy to feel at home, with all the dishes you might need, a big fridge, tea and coffee, and a huge table. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable, nothing like a city hotel in Tokyo. The receptionists were friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms were always clean, with good quality shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. The old style room was clean, nice, and quiet, and the aircon worked well. You're right in the park among the deer, about a 10-minute walk from the temples and shrines. A hill with a great sunset view is just a minute away. Breakfast was okay. Keep in mind that the nearest 7/11 is a 25-minute walk. I brought some food and two liters of water on the way to the hotel, and that helped a lot after a full day walking around. I'd love to come back.

I've had such a fun time here. Nara is so pretty, and this trip has been amazing. Definitely take the map they give you when walking through the park, because it's too big to explore without it. You'll see deer every six feet, no kidding. I absolutely love it here ❤️❤️
