APA Hotel Keisei Narita Ekimae

The onsen makes a compact room much easier to forgive. After a couple of nights there, my legs and general optimism were restored. Rooms are clean, sensibly arranged, and very APA. It's a practical business hotel, and the location is the real advantage. The train station is just steps away via the escalators at the left exit. FamilyMart next door is useful for late snacks or an emergency breakfast. I'd skip the airport shuttle, since the train from here is easier and faster. Not fancy, but comfortable and surprisingly relaxing. I'd stay again.

The room is small, but for the price it feels like good value. It's close to the local train and JR stations, with bus stops just a few steps away. What I appreciated most was the free 7.50 airport shuttle this morning, 30 Apr.26. At the terminal I struggled to find a trolley with my heavy luggage. The bus assistant kindly found one and lifted my bags without me asking. I worried he might get injured doing that all day, and really admired his helpful attitude. He kept saying thank you each time he helped a customer lift luggage. I hope hotel management passes on my sincere compliment. He sets a great example in hospitality and deserves a promotion.

Clean rooms, great bed, linen and towels, friendly hospitality, and a complimentary onsen made this a perfect place to stay while exploring the city. There are plenty of great attractions nearby, and Shinshoji is well worth a visit. Breakfast was great value for money too, so I'd order it for at least one morning. I'd certainly come back.

The location worked really well for me. The train station is right beside the hotel, and if the shuttle isn't running, it's 280 Yen and just one stop to Keisie station. I checked out at 10:00, left my luggage with the hotel, then walked 15 mins to Naritasan. From there it's 17mins on foot to Aeon Mall. Aeon Town is 6mins from the hotel, and there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby for solo travelers. The breakfast lounge is right beside the door. They provide toiletries except lotion. Laundry is on the 2nd Floor in the public bath area, 500 Yen to wash and 100 Yen for 20mins in the dryer. Staff were professional, polite, and spoke English. They didn't expect a tip, unlike Mexico, and seemed focused on good service. My room was clean and quiet, though you may hear trains if your room faces them. The bathroom and bed are small, so this might not suit Western travelers. Cleaning isn't daily, but they leave fresh towels in a bag by your door. Breakfast was edible, but the menu could change every other day since eating the same food daily put me off. I'd rate it 4.5/5. My main frustration was the airport shuttle: I waited an hour outside the airport for pickup at Exit S2 Bus Hotel 16. It wasn't available when I checked out either, so I had to take the train.
