I spent a month there, and it’s honestly one of the best mountain guesthouses you’ll find. The little ITTAN chalets are cute and well built. Guests can cook in the outdoor kitchen or use the BBQ, and there’s even a rice cooker. The location works well too. There are shops around, including a supermarket less than a ten-minute walk away. If you have a car, the nearest snow resort is under half an hour away in winter. The owner is really nice and lets you join the lunches and dinners he cooks. He’s an amazing chef, and for less than 700 ¥ you get a meal that feels worth as much as one at a starred restaurant. Definitely recommend this place.
