Freeride Lodge Niseko

We spent 11 nights at Freeride Lodge in Niseko, and the staff really made the stay memorable. Hattie, Dan, Marco, Jodie, Billy and the rest of the team were so friendly. Billy’s cooking deserves a special mention, and if you’re invited to Hot Pot night, say yes. It’s a great way to meet people. We also had some fun nights out and appreciated all the recommendations. The place was clean and tidy, and getting to the slopes was easy, either on foot or with the shuttle that stops outside every hour. Our private room suited us perfectly, while the shared rooms looked spacious and good value too. There’s a cute ramen spot a short walk away, as well as Milk Kobo. Try the chocolate ice cream. We’d love to come back.

Over our two months in Japan, this was our favorite hostel. We had a great time on and off the hill and made friends there. The staff kept the place clean and made it feel safe and welcoming. If they invite you to a social night, go, they're so much fun.

There was a good chance to meet people here, especially if you're travelling solo, and the location was great. The staff were friendly too. I did have things taken from my bag while I was packing, though. That's about some of the other guests, not the Lodge itself. Lockers for guests might help.

Everyone was welcoming, and there were lots of fun people who seemed happy to socialize with any guest. I'm really grateful for our time here and would come back. Thanks for the warm hospitality, and have a great season!
