Sunrise Annex

We spent the Obon holidays here, and the room looked out over both Mt. Fuji and the ocean. The coast is right nearby, so there was plenty to do beyond swimming, like walking to Cape Osezaki or watching fireworks on the beach at night. We also made good use of the large public bath after our morning walk, since it was open whenever we wanted. Meals were Japanese and mostly fish, with rice you could serve yourself as much as you liked.

We ate well, including a few sashimi dishes I didn't recognize beyond the usual ones. I wish I'd asked what they were called (lol). The view was amazing, and even with clouds we got to see Mt. Fuji. I'm sure it would've looked even better on a sunny day. Being so close to the beach made everything feel open and relaxing. There aren't any shops nearby, so bring snacks.

That road up is pretty winding and tough, but the place itself is lovely. From the window, Mt. Fuji and the ocean look amazing from every angle. The food was delicious too, and the boat-shaped platter was my favorite. The hot spring isn't very large, though I really enjoyed the private outdoor bath for one.

The room is a roomy Japanese-style one with a small TV and a safe, enough space for about six people to sleep comfortably. The Japanese food was pretty standard and tasty. The setting feels right in the heart of the area, with a magnificent view of Mt. Fuji, the sea, and Osezaki Cape. It's also incredibly isolated. There are no restaurants nearby, and even a convenience store means about a 40-minute round trip, so stock up first or book meals. If you plan around that, it's a fantastic place to stay.
