The price was nice, and the facility was pleasant. The washroom was clean and there was hot water.

Just great for camping.

I first tried this campsite on a weekday Thursday, since I don't like crowds, and there were only five groups, counting the residence box. The free site was just ¥1,200 a night, and I could pull up close to load and unload, almost like an auto site. After that, though, you have to move the car quickly to the lot beside the management building. Check-in is at 1:00 p.m. and checkout at 11:00 a.m., so there's a nice long stay. The management building is in the middle, with showers, laundry, vending machines, and a hot water sink in the toilet. Reception is there, along with a direct store that sells firewood. Auto A and the free site are to the left, while auto B, the residence box, and trailer site are to the right. Both A and B have kitchens with ash dumps. After washing up, replace the draining net, put the one with leftovers into a provided garbage bag, then into the garbage bucket. That's required to prevent animal damage. The grass is well kept and all the facilities, including the sanitary ones, are clean. There are two free showers with no timers, but the number of toilets feels low for the site's capacity. The free area is near the road, but traffic was so light that it didn't bother me, especially at night. The campsite is surrounded by an electric fence, so watch small children carefully. The staff service and everything else were high quality, as you'd expect from Snow Py. I moved to Hokkaido and chose snow peak Tokachi Poroshiri Camping Field for an expedition because I'd wanted to visit for a long time. If it were nearby, I'd keep coming back. Check for fixed holidays before going. There's nothing nearby, so bring all the food and other things you need. You can dispose of some rubbish, but at bedtime you have to keep it in the car with your food. Nakasatsunai Roadside Station is 20-30 minutes away.

The staff were friendly and polite, and the place stayed quiet and pleasant through the day and night during my Obon holiday visit. I used a campsite without electricity. Internet barely worked and there was no Wi-Fi. There are only two showers shared by men and women, with pretty cramped changing rooms. Maybe I was unlucky, but when I went in there was a strong sweat smell, and I regretted using them. I'd like a women-only shower, even if it costs extra. If I go again, I'll shower somewhere else first.
