JR KYUSHU HOTEL Blossom Oita

The room was bigger than the ones we had in Tokyo, and we had a fantastic view of the bay and city. The bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was strong, the toilet seat was heated, and there was a dehumidifier in the room. They also provide bottled water. Coin laundry is available on some floors, 300 yen per wash and 100 yen to dry. The hotel is next to Oita Station and Amu shopping plaza, with lots of restaurants, cafes, shops, and convenience stores nearby. I’d definitely stay again.

The rooftop onsen is a big plus. After dinner, it was relaxing to have a soak up there, and the view was beautiful. We added breakfast to our stay, and the food was very Japanese. The service was caring and attentive. The hotel is next to Olta station, with lots of eateries nearby, so finding dinner was easy.

We had a pleasant, comfortable stay. The corner room was a good size, generally larger than other rooms, and its two windows looked out over different parts of Oita. The location is great, right by a shopping mall and plenty of places to eat. The onsen on the 19 floor is worth visiting too. The only drawback was the elevator setup: you take one set to reception on Level 8, then another set from there to your room. With only 2 elevators, there can be a wait at peak times.

The room was clean and came with 4 pillows, a luggage rack, fast wifi, cool aircon, and a strong hot shower. The rooftop outdoor onsen was great, and the hotel sits above the JR station and malls, which made the location convenient. A few things could be better: the window wouldn’t open for some cool autumn air, there was no bathroom hook for clothes or a towel, and the TV didn’t have YouTube or Netflix. I also found the reusable slippers less hygienic than disposable ones.
