Oita Oasis Tower Hotel

The room was spacious, and breakfast had plenty of choices, though the menu was about 98% the same across my three nights. It’s an old hotel that’s been kept up, but the aging fixtures and general feel still show. Service was standard. Shopping streets are walkable, and the station and mall are about a 15-minute walk away. It was okay, I guess.

The city looks amazing at night from the room. It was larger than average and very comfortable, with a firm bed and lots of nice pillows in different styles. The decor and furnishings were tasteful and in good condition.

The front desk made everything easy, from speaking English and helping with our bags to pointing me to a coin laundry and arranging luggage shipment to our hotel in Yokohama. They also booked a massage for my friend and me, and it was wonderful. The rooms were large and comfortable, with plenty of lobby space to wait or meet people. It’s not too far from the station, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.

The covered walkway to Oita Station was a real plus, especially in bad weather, and there are plenty of places to eat along the way. Hotel Nikko Oita Oasis Tower felt like a standard business hotel, closer to three stars than four. My room was clean and functional, though nothing really stood out. Breakfast was limited and repetitive, so I wouldn’t expect much if you’re there more than a night or two. It’s a decent choice for a short business trip, but not especially memorable.
