Hotel Pacific View

The rooms are on the small side, though very clean, with no bad smells or bugs. Staff were friendly, the A/C worked well, and the shower rooms were surprisingly spacious and accommodating.

I didn’t know Hotel Pacific View was a former love hotel in “Love Hotel Valley.” I wouldn’t have booked if I’d known. It sits on a very steep hill, so the “ocean view” doesn’t mean you’re close to the water. Parking is assigned on site. Check-in is entirely virtual, with a button to video call a person for help. We had to call twice, and they were friendly, helpful, and spoke English. You get a check-in code, then use it for the small key lockboxes. We were given room 702 on floor 7. Two towels were already catching drips, one below a ceiling leak and another on the TV stand. There was a lot of water damage and black mold in one corner, peeling ceiling elsewhere, a cigarette burn on a curtain, and cracked, broken flooring in several places. The “couch” was vinyl-covered patio furniture, and the bed felt almost like sleeping on the floor. The two pillows were no better after folding them over and over. A metal spiral staircase covered in gym matting leads to a large jacuzzi and wet room. The windows open, which helps because the room gets stuffy and sticky despite the air conditioner. Outside, the “patio” is just painted concrete with an old picnic table. When I was awake at night in the heat and on the uncomfortable bed, the view was of other sketchy hotels and their entertaining night traffic. The good points were that the place was spacious, quiet, and very clean. I checked every piece of linen carefully before using it, and it was clean. There was a mini-fridge, microwave, water cups, and I think a couple of hygiene packs on the bathroom counter. Family Mart is about 0.5km away. I’d never thought of myself as a hotel snob, but this was a complete waste of $86. I absolutely don’t recommend it.

A very clean hotel with an ocean view. The shower is unbelievable, and there’s a jacuzzi too. A great luxury stay for two lovers to bond.

Room 702 was amazing, with a great view and a spa tub on the roof.
