The island was easy to explore on the e-bikes we rented from Imacoco. We had a lovely day riding around, stopping to swim, eat, and see the landmarks. There’s an onsen right beside the house, and we also loved the Thai massage place nearby. We stayed two nights with Yuto’s family and would happily have stayed longer. They and the other guests were so friendly. It’s a special guesthouse where we felt relaxed, comfortable, and at home. We’d love to come back.
The island bus is infrequent and won’t get you to town in time for the first ferry, and taxis are hard to find, so plan for that. At the guesthouse, though, everyone was keen to help guests have a great visit, whatever had brought them to the island. The staff run plenty of activities, and the food is top notch. Sharing meals with the other guests was a fun part of the stay, though it’s optional. There aren’t other nearby places to eat, and conversation is especially good if you speak Japanese. Yuuto-san has been studying English so he can lead tours and activities more easily for visitors from abroad. It’s a special little place on an amazing island, with a great atmosphere. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Everyone, thank you for such a wonderful experience. I was moved. ^-^
There’s a hot spring just a minute’s walk away, and the owners make sure you get to enjoy Okushiri fully. They’re friendly to visitors from all over the world and speak English, so they can share the island’s history, its beauty, and the best places to go. At Imacoco, you can try SUP, sea kayaking, stargazing, nature tours, fat biking, footpath walks, beach BBQs, or acoustic guitar campfires, among other activities. The owners are kind and caring and make your stay feel special. It’s the best place to stay in Okushiri. Come relax and take in the island’s beauty!
The sea is right in front of the guesthouse, which made it a lovely place to relax. They also offer optional activities, so there’s something to do whether you’re on your own or looking to try things around the island. I loved both the guesthouse and the island, and I’ll definitely stay here again when I return. The owner is kind and friendly, and he speaks English. I enjoyed learning about the island and Japan from him, and his family made me feel very welcome. The rooms, toilets, and the rest of the place were neat and clean. There’s a hot spring a minute’s walk away, and it’s a must-try in Japan! I had such a warm and wonderful experience with this family.
I’m sure Yuto and his wonderful family will make you feel happy with their warm hospitality. Imacoco is the best place to stay on Okushiri Island if you’re keen to enjoy the range of nature activities, like Okushiri foot path walking and SUP.
