The staff were welcoming and laid-back, and the shared areas were adequate. The location was generally fine, and the price made the stay manageable, with a social atmosphere too. Still, the room had a lot of noticeable dust. It affected my comfort and seemed to be part of why I felt unwell during the stay and afterward. The room needs a lot of improvement, and even at this price I wouldn’t come back. To clarify, the mention of “sitting fees” came from a Google “Nearby activities” tag, not a direct claim about this property. In the area, though, I’d say sitting fees seem to be standard practice.

The hostel has a homely, welcoming feel, even though the building is old. I liked seeing all the writing and art on the walls, and the beds were comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful too. It’s in a quieter part of Osaka with fewer tourists, which suited me. One of my favorite places I stayed in Japan. I’d recommend it, and I plan to return if I visit Osaka again.

The staff were a huge help when we had lost baggage and other things to sort out. Such a lovely hostel. We’ll be back in a few weeks when we pass through Osaka! :)

A warm, welcoming place with a relaxed, rustic feel. If you want somewhere in Osaka with that laid-back energy, come here.

The art and the other guests are what I remember most from our few days here in Osaka. My friend and I both found the staff kind and welcoming, and the rooms and shared spaces were really clean. The hostel and surrounding area felt very safe. It’s conveniently near public transit, restaurants, and konbinis. We appreciated having a kitchen and a kind of lobby, and the Wi-Fi worked ideally. The temperature was comfortable even in Japan’s intense summer heat. I’d recommend this hostel to others! Photography by Jason Taylor
