Guest House Yadomaru

The lounge was a nice place to unwind, and everything was very clean. It’s in a quieter part of Osaka City, with convenient access from the station to the port and its attractions. I spent a few delightful nights here. Kokuoh the cat was a great host, and the owner and staff were all friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

The owner was so friendly, and when I asked about the cat, knowing I’m a huge cat lover, he even brought him from home to the hostel. There’s also a huge anime and comic book collection to browse. The bed was already made, comfortable, and I slept great. Everything was clean and tidy, and the WiFi was good. I only booked two one-night stays, then wished I’d stayed longer, but I had plans for Lake Biwa. The station is less than five minutes away and the aquarium is a quick walk. There isn’t much else to do nearby. I’d stay again! :)

My wife and I have preferred guest houses like this over the hotels we’ve stayed in during our two weeks in Japan. It has a cozy feel, and the service was phenomenal. The place is LGBTQIA+ and foreigner friendly, with gender neutral showers and toilets. We’d 10000% book with Yadomaru again when we return to Japan.

A big plus is the cute cat, who acts like the real owner and is always after pets. The place is inexpensive, and the people and atmosphere are really cool. There’s a shared hangout space by the entrance where folks usually relax, and I met some awesome people there. The rooms, showers, and toilets were all very clean. It’s about a five minute walk from the station at Exit 4 and close to the aquarium. 100% recommend, and I’ll stay here again.
