I thought the reviews were off-putting, but I actually had a very good stay. It’s only a 20-minute walk to USJ, with 7-11 and Lawson right next door. The traditional tatami mats do the job. Three people may find the room a little tight, though the bathroom was clean and the shower really roomy. There’s also a small kitchenette in each room, with a working fridge, kettle, stove and sink.

The price is really good, and it’s very close to USJ. The shower had good pressure, and the kitchen had enough equipment to make some meals. The door has both a regular lock and a latch, and the enclosed room made me feel safe. I even left the kitchen light on to settle my mind. The walls are thin, though, and all the loud noises kept me up all night. I’m an anxious sleeper, so that was the only issue for me during my two-day stay.

It’s handy to the theme park if you want to get home quickly after a fun day, and one quick train stop gets you to Universal. It’s a basic, cheap hotel at the back of the park. There are cooking facilities, including plates, bowls and cutlery, and a balcony, though it’s quite dirty. The washing machine was advertised, but now there’s only a trip hazard where it used to be.

The price was good, and it’s a reasonable distance from USJ, with a Family Mart or 7/11 right next door, though I can’t remember which. I stayed one night in September 2019 and found the room modern, clean and equipped with the necessary amenities. Self check-in and check-out were easy and efficient, which helped since I arrived late and missed check-in time. We were put on the top floor, and the lack of an elevator wasn’t ideal, especially with suitcases.
