Liber Hotel Osaka

It was so convenient having 7/11 and Lawson right next door, and Sakurajima Station is literally a one-minute walk across the street. Universal Studios Japan is just one stop away, and you can even see it from the room window. The room was much bigger than a typical Japan hotel room, and the hotel was clean. Staff were friendly and spoke okay English. We stayed three nights and wished we could have stayed for the whole trip. Definitely coming back next time!

The family room was great for a larger group, and the location was the other part of the stay we felt was worth it. But the “premium” king room was plain and didn’t have premium features. We booked those two rooms together. We’d hoped to sit on the deck as a family of seven. First we were told it would cost 3k yen to rent, then once we arrived and asked, the price was 10k yen per person. After already paying 105,000 yen to stay, we couldn’t manage another 70,000 yen. The two gentlemen who helped us check in were kind and didn’t seem annoyed, but the front desk girls were extremely rude and gave very short answers. I’ve traveled from Tokyo to Sasabe a few times, and this was the worst and rudest service I’ve had. At almost $700 usd a night, having the female staff collectively be so rude was a real shame. We’ll find another hotel next trip.

That buffet breakfast was a real highlight, with loads of delicious choices. Our room was spacious and comfortable too. We had a wonderful stay and appreciated the excellent hospitality. Highly recommend it!

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and breakfast had an amazing amount of variety. We also had a great head massage at the massage salon, which I’d highly recommend. The hotel is perfectly placed for Universal. The station is right across the road, though it’s only a 10-minute walk, so we walked. Looking forward to coming back!
