We liked having the convenience store downstairs, connected to the hotel. It made the place easy to find and grabbing tasty snacks was simple. The hotel is reasonably close to stations, though the train ride takes about an hour to Kyoto and 30 minutes to downtown Osaka. We didn’t mind, but it’s something to keep in mind. The staff were friendly and helpful, with someone at the front desk available at all hours. There’s a call button if you need assistance, and they arranged luggage forwarding to our next hotel without any trouble. Our room was clean and had enough space to lay out our large suitcase on the floor. My husband and I, who are 5’10 and 6’4, could move around comfortably. You can ask for the room to be cleaned by putting up a sign.
The hotel staff provided very good service, and the location is excellent, with Shin Osaka station close by. The rooms are a bit small. My main issue was the bathroom odor: about half the time, I noticed a sewage smell. My friend had a separate room on the floor below, on the other side of the hotel, and noticed it there too.
A nice business hotel close to shin-osaka station. I’d give it 4.5/5. I stayed in a Superior Double Non Smoking room. My only small complaint is that an early check-in package would be useful, and I’d have been willing to pay for it. If one was available, the staff didn’t offer it to me.
Check-in isn’t until 3PM, and the hotel doesn’t offer many amenities. I booked a double room and assumed the price covered two people, as it does at many hotels. Instead, I was charged an extra ¥2,200 per night for the second person, which wasn’t clearly explained during booking.
The rest of the stay was generally fine, but checking out was the worst experience I’ve had in years of traveling in Japan. Staff had offered a buffer period, and I arrived in the lobby on time, yet I was still charged. Both self-checkout machines showed errors. Four staff members were standing just three steps behind me and watched without warning or helping until the allotted time had passed. At the staff-assisted checkout, the employee was extremely impolite, while three others stood beside her gossiping in front of me. She used a Japanese word like fear to describe me, which I took as a form of racist discrimination. Staff also didn’t greet or say goodbye to customers coming in or leaving. I’ve stayed here before, but this will be my last visit. I hope the company addresses this and improves staff training and performance evaluation.
