Oshino Hakkai is nearby for local snacks and souvenirs, and you can also drive to Mt. Fuji or Gotemba Premium Outlets. There are several popular Yoshida Udon places around here. The property has hammocks on-site, so it could be a fun spot with kids, and on clear days there are views of Mt. Fuji from the living room and balcony. This mountain-based private lodging closes during the winter months, from December to March. It seems well suited to a trip with family, friends, or a romantic partner.

I didn’t go to the facility itself. These photos are from nearby, taken when I got lost because of my navigation system while driving from Lake Kawaguchi to Oshino Hakkai. I was in a hurry and couldn’t explore, but there might be nicer places to see Mt. Fuji around here. Next I’m off to Amur Pass. Here we go! 10/31
