The inn is clean and comfortable enough, though it's by a river and far from the railway station. Locals also use it as a party venue. When I visited, people had gathered to drink and were having a friendly time together. The onsen uses heated mineral spring-like water. Dinner was Japanese cuisine, laid out with lots of small dishes and bowls in a very specific arrangement by the serving staff. I was warned when I tried to move them.

We came for the Onsen, but it was very quiet at the time and the service was lacking. There isn't a cold bath either, which is worth knowing. It feels like a place that would be better to visit in winter.

The Japanese food was delicious, and the hot spring was good quality.

We were three mountain-climbing friends from Tokyo and Saitama, traveling through Fukui and Kanazawa toward Gokayama and looking for somewhere to stop in Hokuriku. The famous hot springs were too expensive, so after searching around we chose this inn. The meals were excellent, both breakfast and dinner. The sake lees soup, chawanmushi, and fried dishes at breakfast were especially good. Since it was a winter weekday, we had the large bath to ourselves. Everyone at the inn was friendly, and we really appreciated the shuttle to Isurugi Station. If it were closer, we'd definitely come back. Thanks for taking care of us.

The food was deeply satisfying, with local ingredients and delicious, luxurious meat, fish, and vegetables. This is the only ryokan in Miyajima Onsen, in Oyabe City, Toyama Prefecture, and the hot spring water comes directly from the source. The setting is perfect for getting away from everyday bustle and refreshing yourself. The attentive hospitality leaves you feeling happy, and after one visit you'll want to return. It's a wonderful, one-of-a-kind ryokan.
