The meals were pretty good, with plenty of kelp dishes. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and there’s even a coin laundry. Washing costs 300 and drying 100, with detergent picked up at the front desk. The lobby on the second floor looks lovely and has a great view of Rishiri Island. The onsen overlooks both the island and the port, was very clean, and had body towels in the changing rooms. Staff welcomed us warmly, and the hotel is an easy walk from the ferry. We drove and found lots of parking. We had a very comfortable stay and would come back.

We were able to get to and from the ferry terminal by shuttle bus. The meals that came with the stay were fresh and delicious, and our roomy, cosy room had its own onsen looking out toward Rishiri Island.

Please book the shuttle between the hotel and ferry terminal ahead of time. Our room, the view, the food, and the service were all great. We had a lovely time at this onsen hotel and would be happy to return.

My mother doesn’t like raw food, and the staff noticed and cooked those ingredients for her. She loved the meal. They were genuinely friendly and clearly tried hard to make guests happy. The rooms and the onsen share the same amazing view, and the food was fantastic and very fresh.

I went to Hana Rebun Hotel on 10 August 2019 hoping to sit down for a coffee. After I’d been there about three minutes, a new waiter told me I should leave soon because a busload of guests would need the lobby seats during check-in. He made a point of saying the hotel wasn’t a cafe where I could just sit and have coffee. I found the whole thing extremely unfriendly. In two years of living in Japan, this was by far my rudest encounter and worst experience.
