My room was small but laid out efficiently, and the covered parking was handy in snowy weather. The kerosene heater worked so well that I never felt the need to switch on the air conditioning, though the room had it. Don't expect a recent renovation, but what the hotel has is well maintained.

We checked out almost as soon as we checked in. The room door had no bolt or extra lock, which felt unsafe to me. There was also a strong smell of alcohol and smoke in the hallway leading to it. The poor cleanliness and lack of basic security made the stay very uncomfortable.

I made a mistake with my dates when booking a night at Hotel New White House through Agoda. I noticed as soon as the confirmation email arrived and asked to change the dates, or cancel and refund me if a change wasn't possible. Agoda said the hotel refused both, even though less than ten minutes had passed since I booked. I'm VERY dissatisfied with the hotel's service.

The Wi-Fi would sometimes stop working, and the room I got smelled of cigarettes. I'd booked a non-smoking room, but was given a smoking one, so I kept the window open all night.

The staff were professional and helpful during my stay, and gave me great tips for places to eat and shop for souvenirs. It's a clean, updated little hotel on the Hokkaido coastline, close to shops, restaurants, and more. There’s covered garage parking for guests. I'd definitely stay here again, and appreciate the staff's recommendations.
