The girl who showed me to my room was dull, and didn't greet me or explain anything. The restaurant closed before its stated closing time, and nobody came out when I checked out. I didn't find anything good about the place. Maybe the reviews are overrated.

It’s a nice inn, but 14,000 yen per person per night feels steep. Dinner is a rare opportunity in this area, so I wish they’d serve slightly smaller portions and lower the price. At this rate, it’s also a problem that TeNY and UX aren’t available on the room TV.

I really liked the inn’s old-fashioned feel, with creaky floors and high stairs. It gives you that sense of being on a trip. I came by road bike and was allowed to park in a warehouse-like space, where there were some cute cats too. Thanks! I booked breakfast and dinner, and the portions were so huge I couldn’t understand why, lol. It was incredibly delicious, and I think it’s better to book a meal plan when staying overnight. There’s no toilet, bath, or sink in the room. The large bath fits about four people at most, and the tub is small. The ocean right in front makes for a beautiful view. The men’s toilet on the second floor is Japanese-style, while the first floor has Western-style toilets.

The sashimi set meal was a bargain at 1600 yen: six kinds of sashimi, all thick-cut, plentiful, and very fresh, plus six small side dishes. I asked for more rice and they brought over the whole rice cooker, at no charge. We were the only customers when we stopped in at lunchtime during a motorcycle tour in Golden Week 2025, and I worried we’d made a mistake. After waiting about 20 minutes for the meal, I thought so even more, but the food was a surprise. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re going to Sado Island!

The food by itself is worth coming for. I stayed with dinner and breakfast included, and both were really luxurious with huge portions. If you order drinks too, I don’t think most people could finish it all. It was just before summer vacation, so there were few guests and I was the only male guest. There’s no bathroom or toilet in the room, but I had them to myself, so the room having only air conditioning, a TV, and a hot water pot wasn’t a problem. The guest rooms are upstairs, with the dining room, bath, and toilet downstairs. Going up or down in a yukata, you can step on the hem and nearly fall, so be especially careful going up. There’s only one outlet available, so I recommend bringing a power strip.
