Hotel Taiyo Noen Saijo

The public bath stood out for me, especially the strong shower pressure, the low-temperature sauna at around 70°C, and the big cold plunge pool. I booked this hotel for a business trip after I couldn't find anything in central Niihama, even though it was a bit farther out, and ended up very satisfied. Both buffet meals had plenty of choice and tasted like they were made in a proper kitchen. If I couldn't get back by 8 PM, I called and they packed a bento for me, which was more filling than I expected. The 24-hour soft drink bar was welcome too.

The Wi-Fi was the one real disappointment. It was a single shared network for all the rooms and hard to connect to. Otherwise, the hotel worked out really well. We got two meals over the year-end and New Year period, and after using a coupon the price for two people was under 10,000 yen. The buffet had lots of fresh, tasty vegetables and felt properly homemade. Staff were kind and polite, and borrowing a bicycle was helpful. Our room was clean and much more spacious than expected, and the bath with a sauna was comfortable. The 24-hour drink bar had coffee, tea, hot water, cola, orange juice, cocoa, and corn potage, available anytime, not just one welcome drink. Bottled water in the hallway was handy too. There are big shops nearby, and the location is good. I'd happily stay here again.

There aren't convenience stores close by, but two supermarkets are nearby, so it wasn't a problem. I really looked forward to breakfast here. The rice was delicious, the vegetables were fresh, and even the sausages were homemade rather than ordinary ones. (lol)

The room was clean, and the food was tasty, especially the fresh vegetables. Room amenities weren't provided there, so I had to get them from the area behind the front desk.
