Guest house Sankaku Wasabi

The shared space was really nice, with a washer and dryer. The owner was supportive and speaks great English. She took time to explain things and was interested in our trip, and even called around to find us a restaurant booking when everything seemed full. The dorm room was as expected: a comfy bed, but it’s open, so you can hear people. The bathroom area and microwave are close to the beds, so early risers may wake others.

The guesthouse was spotless and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The owner and her husband were so kind and went out of their way to help sort out our bicycle trouble. Her husband runs the bike shop around the corner. They’re a lovely young couple who traveled around Japan in a van before choosing Saiki for its fresh seafood and welcoming people.

Set in an old warehouse, this guesthouse has a lovely retro feel. The host was exceptionally kind and helpful, with plenty of ideas for food and things to do. Highly recommended.

This was the best place I stayed during my six-week trip around Japan. Hope we get to meet again somewhere around the world. Cheers.
