The kitchen was available, and there was a bath, which earns the place 100 points from me. That made it a great fit for us as vegetarians traveling together. I loved the antique charm, and found it comfortable and relaxing. For the price, it's really good value.

The long-haired man who seemed to be the owner came across as unfriendly, and I found it hard to ask him anything. I also got the feeling that important things were being neglected just because the prices were low. What a shame.

I found the place dirty and smelly, with cobwebs. It's understandable that it's old, but the shower, kitchen, and room were all unclean and uncomfortable. The listing said 3,500 yen online, but I was charged 4,500 yen. I won't go back. Children from the family were coming out of the room, there was shampoo in the bathroom that seemed to be for personal use, and the windows didn't lock, which raised security concerns. I don't recommend it.

The room was clean and the heater kept it warm during our two-night, three-day stay starting December 31st. The sake tasting was very good too. While waiting for their parents, some foreign guests were kind to my daughters, and it was nice to have a little chance to interact with them. There were board games as well, so while we waited for our turn to use the bath, we played The Game of Life and my parents enjoyed tasting the sake. It made for a really meaningful experience and a lovely way to spend the end of the year. I'd definitely like to go back.
