Shingo and Akiko made us feel at home right away. Their love for Hasedera comes through, and they were so thoughtful about our plans, mapping out transport routes and giving detailed itinerary advice that made getting around easy. We stayed at "Hasedera Guesthouse Ittan" for Hasedera Temple’s 1300th-anniversary celebrations, and got to see the special viewing of the Eleven-faced Kannon statue and the morning rituals, Asa-gongyo. The peonies and greenery in the quiet early morning made it a spiritual experience. For a visit to Nara beyond the usual tourist places, I highly recommend staying here, whether you’re coming from Hong Kong or somewhere else. The morning atmosphere at Hasedera is breathtaking, and Shingo and Akiko are wonderful hosts. Thanks again, we hope to see you soon.
