I booked this traditional Japanese inn at the last minute for one night. You sleep on tatami mats, so it may not be comfortable if you aren’t used to them. It’s a one-star hotel with limited amenities and very hands-off service, which was fine for our short stay. There’s no early check-in, and they won’t store your luggage. The rooms don’t have bidets either. The heater was extremely warm, and since we couldn’t move it or redirect the vents, it blew straight at us while we slept. Lowering the setting didn’t work because it seemed like old equipment, so we turned it off and ended up cold through the night.

Getting into the centre takes about a 15-minute walk, and the subway is right beside the hotel. The location is fine, and check-in was easy, with helpful staff. It’s a comfortable place to sleep for what you pay. The only downside was the room being kind of cold. It took a while for the heater to warm it up.

The managers and their puppy, Luna, make for a fun, welcoming atmosphere. The little bar beside the hotel is adorable, and both the beer and food were excellent. There are several restaurants and bars nearby too. I stayed from 2/3 to 2/6 and really enjoyed it. The place was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The tatami was excellent, and with the thick futon mats and futon I slept very comfortably, even though I’m American and used to a bed. The bathroom is small but has everything you need. I loved my time here and would stay again.
